Los Angeles 2100 by rashomike Los Angeles 2100 by rashomike
My take on Los Angeles in about 100 years (from the Getty Center looking east)... keeping in mind that although great strides in public transportation will have come to fruition in LA by the 2100s, sprawl and commuting will still in all likelihood be a huge part of and obstacle for future southern California city planners.

All this is based on what happens to LA/CA's drought condition, and whether they can find sane solutions to reversing growth in favor of some other options like recycling land use in the same way we recycle materials. Building national projects that capture percipitation from where it is overabundunt, treat it, and move it to where it is not. The major hurdel is to break-up LA into more managable districts with large green belts and resevoirs in between. How do you tell a people who think that they are entitled to all the the water west of the Devide that they are not. Fantastic image by the way. Best of luck in your future endevors.

IMO...we WISH. LA will decline into nothing as years go on. of all countries in the world America aren't doing well, they need to stop living in denial of some facts and get their act together otherwise they won't be around in a 100 years. I have nothing against America in general so don't go pointing the finger at me, I have plenty of friends who are American...but even THEY think America are being stupid...evidence enough I think (I nod my head).

It's quite a picture. Dare I hope the iconic City Hall is still there?

I like this image a lot. One of my objections to futuristic scenes is the majority of them use gloomy color palettes which I find rather unrealistic.

The other reason this scene strikes a chord for me is the book series I've started writing starts time wise around 2080 and very much fits my vision for large cities of the future.

Good job.

Insanely sweet. but a little curious about the scale of the UCLA dome... looks big enough to cover the whole campus... maybe even all of Westwood.

Commuting will always be a part of any advanced society. Although, if your house flies, and can be docked near your work, it probably wouldn't be so bad.
